UC Berkeley officials said that as of about 9 a.m. today, the tree-sitters have three days to evacuate. Mogulof [UC Berkeley’s executive director of public affairs] said the campus has not decided what action it will take if the tree-sitters are still occupying the grove when the 72-hour ultimatum expires.
“In the next 72 hours,” Mogulof said, “their reason for being will no longer be present.”
The Daily Cal. As my friend Stephanie pointed out, I think Mogulof might have preferred to be quoted as “…their reason for being there will no longer be present.” But whatever. As such, the quote is as hilarious as it is life-threatening.
